Meet The Maker
Charlotte...
Hello, I am Charlotte... Born in Devon and now living in Somerset, spending my time between the two including lots of time in Cornwall in the holidays.
Making jewellery was always something I wanted to do but never had the courage, until 2020. After a few months planning and creating I was able to start going to markets. Building up a collection using the inspiration of places from my childhood, grandparents and our Cornish holidays.
Charlotte Rowe Jewellery came out of my desire to create pieces for me that I could not find. I particularly love the art that is lost wax casting, an old technique using wax to form a piece then into a kiln for many many hours and flooding it with molten silver. The outcome is always a mystery adding to the suspense when the molten tree is quenched in water to produce a beautiful piece ready to be cleaned up and polished. I love wearing and creating classic, bold and tactile pieces, that you can wear time and time again, layering to build new looks.
Sustainability is something very important to me, to be able to make special pieces that can be treasured for a lifetime. I strive to use recycled silver in all my pieces and everything is handcrafted to order, so it truly is made for you with you in mind. I strongly believe that jewellery should hold meaning and sentimental significance.
All my pieces have taken inspiration from the coastline and sea. My family and I spend so much of our time by the sea so it would be hard not to draw ideas from the peacefulness of the salt and sand.
